A leading North Wales law firm is in the running to be named Welsh Law Firm of the Year.
Gamlins Law, which has its head office in Rhyl, will find out on November 24th if it is the country’s top law firm of 2023 when the winners of the Wales Legal Awards are announced.
Gamlins Law has enjoyed another exceptionally strong year and further cemented its undisputed position as the largest provider of legal services in North Wales.
The last financial year saw turnover rise by over 10% – the latest successful year in a sustained performance which has seen turnover double since the current management team took over the running of the firm six years ago.
During the past 12 months, headcount at the business has also increased, from 75 to almost 90, creating opportunities for both established and younger lawyers and support staff to pursue their legal careers in North Wales.
Earlier this year, the firm recruited five new trainee solicitors and three paralegals, seven of them from the North Wales region.
Ron Davison, Managing Director of Gamlins Law, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for Welsh Law Firm of the Year.
“Many different elements have come together to enable Gamlins Law to achieve this success.
“They include a commitment to providing our clients and staff with the best possible working environment, demonstrated during 2022 with our move to a new head office at Morfa Hall in Rhyl, providing 10,500 sq. ft of space, incorporating modern surroundings and the latest technology.
“We are committed to enabling our clients to access the legal services they require when they need them and in the way that most suits their busy working and home lives. Our ongoing investment in our head office and five further satellite offices in Mold, Ruthin, Denbigh, Holywell and Abergele mean that our team can flex to best serve our clients whether that is in person or online.”
Two notable achievements in the last year have been the launch of a sister brand, Conspiracy Lawyers UK, providing legal services to clients across the UK who have been accused of conspiracy-related offences, and the growth of the firm’s Personal Injury and Medical Negligence team. During the last year, the team has recovered over £4million in damages along with more than £500,000 for clients in interim payments.
Ron added: “We are also hugely active within the North Wales community, notably through our long running ‘Give with Gamlins’ initiative which sees us throw our support behind many different charities and projects in the region.
“We regularly partner with charities including Cancer Research UK, St David’s Hospice, Hope House, Nightingale House, Shelter, Action for Children and Tenovus, and support causes such as Children in Need, Comic Relief, Movember and World Mental Health Day.
“We also sponsor many events across our region including the Denbigh and Flint Show, Ruthin Festival and Royal Welsh Show, while our free wills service provided to charities has resulted in over £1.1million in gifts from people choosing to leave a legacy in their will.”
Gamlins Law offers a comprehensive range of legal services including commercial, commercial and residential property, employment law, family and matrimonial, children, personal injury and medical negligence, criminal, regulatory, litigation, inheritance tax, wills and probate.
The winners of the Wales Legal Awards 2023 will be announced at an awards dinner on November 24th at the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel.
