Ron has over 25 years of experience advising the community of North Wales.  He has established a strong reputation for client care and a no-nonsense approach to resolving complex issues.

Matrimonial Finance

His wealth of knowledge and experience has led him to become the “go to” Divorce lawyer in North Wales.

His experience includes dealing with pre and post nuptial agreements (and disputing the same), complex family trusts, business, agricultural and cases with international elements. There are no “run of the mill” matrimonial finance cases and Ron treats all clients the same, regardless of assets.

Employment Law

Having been trained by one of North Wales’ most eminent solicitors and Deputy Employment Judge, Mr John Hoult, Ron maintains an employment practice which includes representing both Respondents and Claimants. He has experience in advising large companies and SME’s and has a particular speciality in restructuring, redundancy exercises, TUPE issues, unfair/constructive dismissal and discrimination claims.

Personal Interests

Outside the office Ron is an avid follower of rugby – having been forced to hang-up his boots many years ago.  He is now a keen runner and adventurer.  He ran the London Marathon in 2025 for the charity LawCare and has climbed Kilimanjaro, amongst other international summits.  He hopes to post a sub 20-minute 5k before his legs start to give up on him!

Ron has been the President of the Cheshire and North Wales Law Society and also holds a number of non-executive Director roles.  He is a Director and Trustee of North Wales Community Law.

He has recently been appointed to the Panel of Deputies at the Office of the Public Guardian.

Ron is proud of Gamlins Law and his own work in the community, having won National Awards recognising both the firm’s and his own outstanding individual contribution.

He is passionate about education and mentoring North Wales’ future lawyers. He has guest lectured for the University of Bangor and been an associate lecturer for the University of Law.
